The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2025 All-Conference awards for men's soccer. Individually, the Pfeiffer trio of Alex Michael, Seth Limbert, and Tony Faticoni, were named Player of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year, and Coach of the Year, respectively. Greensboro's Gustav Ohman earned Rookie of the Year accolades to round out the individual awards. Additionally, the USA South recognized an All-Sportsmanship Team, consisting of one member from each competing school who their coach felt displayed the best sportsmanship this season.
All awards were voted on by the men's soccer coach at each institution.
Michael, a junior defender from New Orleans, Louisiana, becomes the first Pfeiffer men's soccer student-athlete to be named USA South Player of the Year. Michael not only helped a Pfeiffer defense lead the Conference in goals allowed but created offense by finishing the regular season tied for the League-lead in goals scored with 11. Many of his goals were scored on set pieces while also being a perfect 4-for-4 from the penalty spot. Against USA South opposition-only, Michael's Falcon defense allowed 0.71 goals per game while he scored four times himself. For his efforts this fall, Michael earns all-conference honors for the second consecutive season as a defender while being named USA South Defensive Player of the Week three times.
Ohman, a Gothenburg, Sweden freshman forward becomes the first Greensboro men's soccer student-athlete to be named USA South Rookie of the Year since 2015. During the regular season, Ohman ranked tied for the League-lead in game-winning-goals (3) to go along with sitting tied for third in the Conference in both points (21) and goals scored (9). In Conference play, Ohman totaled six points on three goals scored. For his efforts this fall, Ohman grabbed First Team All-Conference accolades at the forward position.
Limbert, a Mooresville, North Carolina sophomore goalkeeper, becomes the first Pfeiffer men's soccer student-athlete to be named USA South Goalkeeper of the Year. Limbert played 1,047 minutes during the regular season and posted a 9-0-2 record in net with four shutouts. Limbert led the Conference with a 0.77 goals against average and a .786 save percentage, including his nine wins. Against USA South competition, Limbert was 4-0-2 while once again leading the League in goals-against-average (0.83) and save percentage (.783) while tying for the most shutouts (2). For his efforts this fall, Limbert grabbed all-conference accolades for the first time in his career and collected USA South Defensive Player of the Week once.
Faticoni, in his ninth season as Pfeiffer's head coach, earns his first USA South Coach of the Year honor. Picked to finish sixth by the coaches in the preseason poll, Faticoni's Falcons captured the program's first USA South regular season title by accumulating a 5-0-2 record, rebounding from a 1-5-1 mark just a year ago. Pfeiffer has yet to see defeat this year as the team has accumulated a 13-0-3 overall record. His team has done it with defense as the Falcons allowed just 11 goals during the regular season, five against Conference foes, to lead the League. The 13 overall wins are the most for the Pfeiffer men's soccer program since the 2016 team finished with a 19-3 record, its last season as a Division II program.
