  • Men's Basketball Player of the Week
    Nasir Johnson, N.C. Wesleyan - The Burlington, North Carolina sophomore guard averaged 26.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.3 steals per game as the Battling Bishops posted a 3-0 record last week against USA South opposition. In a 77-74 win at Mary Baldwin, Johnson totaled 22 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals. In a 77-62 victory over Greensboro, Johnson tallied 27 points, four rebounds, and three steals. Finally, in a 101- 60 win over Brevard, Johnson scored 31 points with five assists, four rebounds, and one steal.     Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week
    Ashton Davis, Southern Virginia - The Apex, North Carolina freshman center averaged 8.7 points and 2.3 rebounds per game last week as the Knights posted a 2-1 record against USA South foes. In an 89-69 win over Brevard, Davis totaled eight points and one steal. In an 89-63 loss to Pfeiffer, Davis scored 13 points with five rebounds and one steal. Finally, in an 81-66 victory over William Peace, Davis contributed five points, two rebounds, and one assist. Also Nominated: None.

  • Women's Basketball Player of the Week
    Abigail Snyder, Southern Virginia - The Rocky Ford, Colorado senior guard averaged a double-double of 26.0 points and 11.5 rebounds, to go along with 3.5 steals and 1.5 assists per game as the Knights posted a 2-0 record last week against USA South foes. In an 85-56 win over Methodist, Snyder notched a double-double of 36 points and 17 rebounds to go along with five steals and one assist. The 36 points are the second-most scored in a single game in program history. In a 64-53 victory at N.C. Wesleyan, Snyder totaled 16 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals.     Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week
    Kensly Stewart, Greensboro - The freshman guard from Marion, North Carolina averaged 18.7 points, 2.3 steals, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game as the Pride posted a 2-1 record last week. In a 91-67 loss at USA South foe N.C. Wesleyan, Stewart totaled 17 points, three rebounds, and three steals. In an 87-73 win over Warren Wilson, Stewart contributed 11 points, two assists, two steals, and one rebound. Finally, in an 87-76 victory over USA South rival Meredith, Stewart scored 28 points with two rebounds, two steals, and one assist. Also Nominated: Des'Myah Croom, N.C.
