The USA South Athletic Conference will once again give institutions the opportunity to spotlight student-athletes each Wednesday as a part of the Conference's #WhyD3Wednesday initiative. In its tenth year, #WhyD3Wednesday allows student-athletes to briefly explain why they chose to attend their Division III institution as well as share some of their favorite things in life. To view this week's submission, please see below and make sure to follow the hashtag #WhyD3Wednesday on the USA South's X (@usa_south) and Instagram (@usa_south) social media platforms throughout the year as League student-athletes share their stories.
Kelsey Hussey - Pfeiffer University - Junior - Volleyball
“I chose Division III because it allowed me the ability to have interests and involvements outside of my sport while still competing at a high level. Knowing that my identity is more than just being an athlete has been really important to me, especially since starting college, and DIII has allowed me to find a great balance between volleyball and my other interests on campus. I chose Pfeiffer specifically because of the welcoming atmosphere I experienced when I first set foot on campus. Everyone was genuinely so nice that I knew I would find a family here. Coming from a small hometown and high school, I felt like I fit right in and knew Pfeiffer was the place for me.”
