Pfeiffer's Lowery Earns NCAA National Bid

Misenheimer, N.C. (Nov. 12, 2023) -- Senior Cross Country standout Madison Lowery led the Pfeiffer University women's cross country team to their highest finish in the regional championships in over 20 years and their highest finish in Pfeiffer's Division III era. Lowery finished 10th overall in the 6K race, setting a new personal best time of 22:16. 

Her time earned her all-region  honors and and qualified her for the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship for the second straight season.

Freshmen Makayla Borst and Maddie Hladik were the next two Falcon finishers, finishing 46th and 52nd, respectively, with both running personal best times of  23:59 and 24:20.  

Senior Micah Welborn, who finished 77th and freshman Hayley Borst finished in 100th place with a new personal best of 25:52.

As a team, Pfeiffer  finished in 9th place of the 22 team field, which featured the top teams in the Southeast Region.
 
Lowery will next take part in the NCAA Division III Championships on Nov. 18 at Big Springs High School in Carlisle, Pa.
