(ROCKY MOUNT, N.C.) - The 2023 USA South Men's Soccer Tournament championship took place on the campus of N.C. Wesleyan University on Saturday, November 4 as fourth-seeded Brevard defended their title from a year ago by prevailing via penalty kicks (8-7) over the second-seeded host Battling Bishops after a 1-1 draw.

N.C. Wesleyan took an early lead in the 14th minute as Bastien Dechamps scored thanks to an assist from Pierre Leo. The score did not remain tied for long as Adan Miller knotted things up just three minutes later off an assist from Ryan Lynch. Both defensive backfields and goalkeepers kept the game tied through regulation and two ten-minute overtime periods. 

The game would head to penalty kicks where each team connected on their first seven attempts until a save by the Tornados Matheus Rossi coupled with a score from Jerick Moreno captured the championship for Brevard.
