's "50 Years in 50 Weeks" - 1968-69

(FAYETTEVILLE, NC) - The 2013-14 season serves as the 50th for the USA South Athletic Conference. In an effort to relive 50 Years of League memories, the USA South has produced "50 Years in 50 Weeks", a weekly chronicle of some of the great moments in Conference history.

1968 - 1969

  • UNC-Greensboro joins the Conference.

  • Baseball is first offered as a Conference sport and Lynchburg earns the first of three straight titles.

  • Methodist and UNC–Charlotte capture their first Men’s Basketball Regular Season and Tournament Championships, respectfully.

  • Methodist wins its first Conference Bowling Tournament title.

 


Lynchburg’s Bill Shellenberger earns
the first Men’s Golf Coach of the Year award.
