USA South Golf Athletes of the Week - September 24, 2025

  • Men's Golfer of the Week
    Haden Ruby, Methodist - The New London, North Carolina senior placed tied-second out of 120 golfers at the NCAA Division III Fall Preview last week by shooting an eight-under par 207. In the three-round event, Ruby opened with a one-under par 70, then shot a four-under par 68, before finishing with a three-under par 69. Also Nominated: Rylan Gay, N.C. Wesleyan.

    Men's Golf Rookie of the Week
    Juan Amil, N.C. Wesleyan - The Madrid, Spain freshman placed tied for eighth at the Don Scalf Memorial Invitational last week by shooting a five-over par 149. In the two-round event, Amil opened with a four-over par 74 and finished with a one-over par 73. Also Nominated: Jack Haeflinger, Methodist.

  • Women's Golfer of the Week
    Sydney Richards, Southern Virginia - The Farmington, Utah junior placed first out of 50 golfers at the Bridgewater Invitational last week by shooting a two-over par 146. In the two-round event, Richards opened with a three-over par 75 and finished with a one-under par 71. Also Nominated: Mary Charles Davis, Huntingdon; Kirstyn Page, Pfeiffer; Erin Donovan, Piedmont.

    Women's Golf Rookie of the Week
    Aubree Hill, Piedmont - The Bogart, Georgia freshman placed tied for 17th out of 54 golfers at the Montgomery Women's Intercollegiate last week by shooting a 15-over par 159. In the two-round event, Hill opened with a nine-over par 81 and finished with a six-over par 78. Also Nominated: Berkley Wiggins, Huntingdon; Madison Frisby, Southern Virginia.
