's "50 Years in 50 Weeks" - 1972-73

(FAYETTEVILLE, NC) - The 2013-14 season serves as the 50th for the USA South Athletic Conference. In an effort to relive 50 Years of League memories, the USA South has produced "50 Years in 50 Weeks", a weekly chronicle of some of the great moments in Conference history.

1972 - 1973

  • Methodist captures its first-ever Men’s Basketball Tournament title.

  • Lynchburg makes a record 50 field goals to defeat St. Andrews in a Men’s Basketball tournament, still a record today.

  • N.C. Wesleyan wins its first-ever Men’s Tennis championship.


Christopher Newport University joins the Conference.
