's "50 Years in 50 Weeks" - 1973-74

(FAYETTEVILLE, NC) - The 2013-14 season serves as the 50th for the USA South Athletic Conference. In an effort to relive 50 Years of League memories, the USA South has produced "50 Years in 50 Weeks", a weekly chronicle of some of the great moments in Conference history.

1973 - 1974

  • The NCAA votes at a Special Convention to reorganize into three divisions and the Conference becomes an official NCAA Division III member.

  • UNC–Greensboro captures its first-ever Men’s Tennis title.

  • Virginia Wesleyan earns its first-ever Baseball crown.

  • Methodist men's basketball sweeps both the Conference regular season and tournament championships for the first time in program history.


Greensboro wins its first-ever Men’s Golf Conference championship.
