's "50 Years in 50 Weeks" - 1980-81

(FAYETTEVILLE, NC) - The 2013-14 season serves as the 50th for the USA South Athletic Conference. In an effort to relive 50 Years of League memories, the USA South has produced "50 Years in 50 Weeks", a weekly chronicle of some of the great moments in Conference history.

1980 - 1981

  • UNC–Greensboro collects its first Men’s Basketball Regular Season title, a tri-championship shared with St. Andrews and Virginia Wesleyan.

  • Christopher Newport wins the first of seven consecutive Men’s Cross Country championships.

  • St. Andrews begins a run of capturing three consecutive Men's Basketball Tournament titles.

  • Methodist golf breaks Greensboro's string of three consecutive Conference championships by starting a streak of three straight titles of its own.

 


N.C. Wesleyan earns its first-ever
Baseball Regular Season Conference championship.
