's "50 Years in 50 Weeks" - 1982-83

(FAYETTEVILLE, NC) - The 2013-14 season serves as the 50th for the USA South Athletic Conference. In an effort to relive 50 Years of League memories, the USA South has produced "50 Years in 50 Weeks", a weekly chronicle of some of the great moments in Conference history.

1982 - 1983

  • UNC–Greensboro wins its first Conference Regular Season Volleyball title.

  • St. Andrews Men’s Basketball earns a 26–4 overall record which is currently tied for the most wins by a Conference team during a single season.

  • N.C. Wesleyan Baseball team hits 27 triples during the season, a Conference record which still stands today.

  • St. Andrews’ Will Peterson earns his second career Men’s Basketball Tournament MVP honor.

  • Methodist Baseball’s Doug Garner steals a Conference–record seven bases in a game versus Fairleigh Dickinson.
