's "50 Years in 50 Weeks" - 1992-93

(FAYETTEVILLE, NC) - The 2013-14 season serves as the 50th for the USA South Athletic Conference. In an effort to relive 50 Years of League memories, the USA South has produced "50 Years in 50 Weeks", a weekly chronicle of some of the great moments in Conference history.

1992 - 1993

  • Methodist women’s basketball win its first regular season title.
  • N.C. Wesleyan women’s soccer’s Jen Gardner sets single–season Conference record with a 0.35 goals against average.
  • Methodist men’s soccer’s Justin Terranova sets single–season Conference record with a 0.42 goals against average.
  • Methodist baseball’s Brian Ford sets single–game Conference record with 20 strikeouts versus St. John Fisher.
  • Methodist golf captures first of nine consecutive Conference championships.
  • Christopher Newport women’s tennis wins its first Conference Tournament championship.
  • Christopher Newport softball’s Jennifer Fields sets single–game Conference record with nine RBI versus Methodist.
  • Christopher Newport men’s soccer sets Conference record for most goals scored in a game with 15 versus Columbia Union.
  • Averett Volleyball captures its first-ever Conference Tournament title.


Shenandoah University joins the
Conference as a full member.

Christopher Newport softball wins its first–ever Conference Tournament title and sets League single–season record with a .378 batting average.
Methodist men's golf's Ryan Jenkins (right with coach Steve Conley) wins the first of two career NCAA Division III Individual Championships.
