's "50 Years in 50 Weeks" - 1993-94

(FAYETTEVILLE, NC) - The 2013-14 season serves as the 50th for the USA South Athletic Conference. In an effort to relive 50 Years of League memories, the USA South has produced "50 Years in 50 Weeks", a weekly chronicle of some of the great moments in Conference history.

1993 - 1994

  • Greensboro men’s basketball ties Conference record for most wins in a season with 26.
  • Future Conference Hall of Famer, Christopher Newport’s Karen Barefoot, sets women’s basketball Conference single–season and career records for assists with 273 and 1,002, respectively.
  • Averett volleyball sets single–season Conference record with a .354 attack percentage.
  • N.C. Wesleyan baseball sets single–season Conference records with a 2.57 team ERA and a 42–4 record.
  • Greensboro men’s basketball establishes record for most points in a Conference Tournament game by scoring 120 versus Christopher Newport.
  • Averett women’s tennis wins its first Conference regular season title.
  • Methodist men’s golf captures the program’s fourth NCAA Division III National Championship.


Christopher Newport men’s cross country wins first of 20
consecutive Conference championships.

Christopher Newport men’s basketball’s Ted Berry
sets Conference single–season scoring record by
averaging 27.3 points per game.

 


N.C. Wesleyan women’s basketball wins its
first Conference Regular Season and
Tournament championships.

 


Christopher Newport men’s golf’s Scott Scovil wins the
NCAA Division III National Individual Championship.


Ferrum men’s soccer’s Jay Roberts sets
Conference single–game record with
five assists versus Warren Wilson.


The Conference conducts its first baseball tournament
as N.C. Wesleyan captures the title.
