's "50 Years in 50 Weeks" - 1994-95

(FAYETTEVILLE, NC) - The 2013-14 season serves as the 50th for the USA South Athletic Conference. In an effort to relive 50 Years of League memories, the USA South has produced "50 Years in 50 Weeks", a weekly chronicle of some of the great moments in Conference history.

1994 - 1995

  • Ferrum women’s basketball captures its first Conference Tournament title.
  • Methodist baseball’s Brian Ford wins a Conference single-season record 15 games on the mound and concludes his career by pitching a record 408 innings and striking out a record 439 batters.
  • Ferrum’s Keith Mayhew sets the Conference single-season baseball record by striking out 149 batters.
  • Ferrum women’s basketball’s Glossary Smith sets Conference Tournament single-game and total tournament rebounding records with 23 versus Methodist and 56 for the entire tournament.

Methodist men’s golf captures the program’s fifth
NCAA Division III National Championship while Ryan Jenkins
wins his second career NCAA Division III Individual Title.


Ferrum women’s basketball’s Tamiko Martin takes over all
three Conference records for blocks as she sets the single-game
mark with 13 versus Christopher Newport, gets the single-season record
with 167 and establishes the career-high with 404.

 


The Conference conducts its first Women’s Cross Country Championship
as Christopher Newport wins the title.

Methodist baseball reaches the NCAA Division III National Championship game.
