's "50 Years in 50 Weeks" - 1998-99

(FAYETTEVILLE, NC) - The 2013-14 season serves as the 50th for the USA South Athletic Conference. In an effort to relive 50 Years of League memories, the USA South has produced "50 Years in 50 Weeks", a weekly chronicle of some of the great moments in Conference history.

1998 - 1999

  • Christopher Newport women’s cross country captures the first of 12 consecutive Conference championships.
  • Methodist’s Julie Best sets single–season Conference softball records with 80 hits, 29 doubles and 121 total bases.
  • Christopher Newport men’s basketball’s Antoine Sinclair earns first of three consecutive Conference Tournament MVP honors.
  • Greensboro men’s soccer reaches the NCAA Division III National Championship game.
  • Future Conference Hall of Famer, Chad Collins from Methodist, wins the second of his three career NCAA Division III Men's Golf Individual National Titles.

Methodist men’s golf captures the program’s ninth NCAA Division III
National Championship ending a run of sixth consecutive titles.

N.C. Wesleyan baseball captures the program’s
second NCAA Division III National Championship.
