's "50 Years in 50 Weeks" - 2003-2004

(FAYETTEVILLE, NC) - The 2013-14 season serves as the 50th for the USA South Athletic Conference. In an effort to relive 50 Years of League memories, the USA South has produced "50 Years in 50 Weeks", a weekly chronicle of some of the great moments in Conference history.

2003 - 2004

  • In its last season in the Conference, Chowan wins its first and only Regular Season women’s basketball championship.
  • Shenandoah earns a share of its first–ever Conference football title.
  • Methodist baseball hits a record five triples during the Conference tournament.
  • Methodist collects a share of its first–ever Conference women’s lacrosse crown.
  • Shenandoah’s Brittany Metz scored a record 12 goals during the Conference Women’s Lacrosse Tournament.
  • Methodist basketball’s Arthur Hatch concludes his career with a Conference–record 328 blocked shots.


The Dixie Intercollegiate Athletic Conference changes
its name to the USA South Athletic Conference.


Peace College, then known as the "Pride", now the William Peace
University "Pacers", joins the Conference as a full member.

Averett captures the program’s first–ever
Conference Softball Tournament championship.
