's "50 Years in 50 Weeks" - 2007-2008

(FAYETTEVILLE, NC) - The 2013-14 season serves as the 50th for the USA South Athletic Conference. In an effort to relive 50 Years of League memories, the USA South has produced "50 Years in 50 Weeks", a weekly chronicle of some of the great moments in Conference history.

2007 - 2008

  • Methodist men’s basketball sets Conference record for points in a game with 142 versus Emory & Henry.
  • Averett men’s basketball sets single–game Conference record with 19 three–point field goals versus Hampden–Sydney.
  • Methodist women’s soccer’s Chrystal Bradley completes her career with a Conference-record 82 goals and sets Conference Tournament single–game record with four goals versus Meredith.
  • Greensboro women’s soccer’s Tessa Hall sets Conference single-season record with 19 assists.
  • Christopher Newport volleyball wins first of six consecutive Conference Regular Season and Tournament titles.
  • Shenandoah softball captures its first and only Conference Regular Season championship.
  • N.C. Wesleyan’s Lenny Hall ends his career with a Conference-record 650 free throws made and 818 free throws attempted.


Mary Baldwin College joins the Conference as full members.

 


Meredith College joins the Conference as full members.

 

 


N.C. Wesleyan wins the program’s first Conference football crown and
sets Conference season record with 5,050 yards of total offense.

 

 


Averett men’s basketball’s Jonathan Rumley earns first of two consecutive Conference Tournament MVP honors.

 


Christopher Newport volleyball’s Brittany Collins
sets Conference career record with 441 service aces.

 


Christopher Newport women’s basketball’s Chelsie Schweers becomes first athlete in Conference history to win both Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year honors in the same season.

 


Methodist softball’s Rebekah Kelly sets
Conference single–season record with ten triples.

Methodist women’s soccer captures its first
Conference Tournament championship.

Greensboro’s Dione Eccles sets Conference Women’s Basketball Regular Season and Tournament record by scoring 54 points versus Ferrum.
