's "50 Years in 50 Weeks" - 2010-2011

(FAYETTEVILLE, NC) - The 2013-14 season serves as the 50th for the USA South Athletic Conference. In an effort to relive 50 Years of League memories, the USA South has produced "50 Years in 50 Weeks", a weekly chronicle of some of the great moments in Conference history.

2010 - 2011

  • Greensboro’s Danielle Duncan sets Conference single–season record with 223 free throws made.
  • Shenandoah women’s cross country captures its first and what would turn out to be its lone Conference title prior to departing the League.
  • Shenandoah baseball wins the program’s first and what would turn out to be its lone Conference Regular Season championship prior to departing the League.
  • Christopher Newport baseball establishes a Conference-record 26–game winning streak.
  • Christopher Newport women’s lacrosse scores a Conference single-season record 308 goals.
  • Shenandoah softball wins the program’s first and what would turn out to be its lone Conference Tournament title prior to departing the League.

 
Greensboro men’s golf captures the program’s second
NCAA Division III National Championship.


 Christopher Newport women’s basketball’s Chelsie Schweers ends her collegiate
career by being named D3Hoops.com National Player of the Year and setting the following
Conference records: Points Scored (season and career), Points Per Game Average (season),
Field Goals Made & Attempted (season and career), Three–Point Field Goals Made, Attempted & Percentage (season and career), Free Throw Percentage (career).


Christopher Newport men’s golf captures its first and what would turn
out to be its lone Conference crown prior to departing the League.


Meredith’s Arielle Stout sets the Conference softball
single–season strikeout record with 248.


Christopher Newport softball’s Jessie Atkinson finishes her collegiate career with a Conference-record 41 home runs.


Ferrum’s Derek Mitchell concludes his men’s basketball collegiate
career with a Conference-record 1,258 rebounds.


Christopher Newport softball reaches the
NCAA Division III National Championship game.


N.C. Wesleyan volleyball’s Kelly George
sets Conference single–season record for digs with 738.
